There was an oil boom in Oklahoma in the early 1980's. This sign comes from then. My late husband and several friends left Oregon in 1982 and went to work for Quarles Drilling Co. They lived in boom conditions where everything, even a shower was expensive. Just like what I've heard about gold rush times. I've kept this sign as a memento.
