I like pairs!
I like pears too, I suppose!
I also like brandy.
These days I am less than likely to drink, however.
I have had the warmer with the copper base for nearly twenty years and have used it once a year to warm the brandy before it was ignited and went onto the traditional Xmas pudding. Some Australians suffer from overeating traditional pudding on Dec 25 in heatwave temperatures: the power of tradition and family.
So when I saw the second one, almost identical except for the base material, I had to buy it for the asking $22 at a Collector's Fair some five months ago!
I have not been able to find a maker's mark on either of the two warmers. The handles look like rose-wood. The bowls are beautifully shaped and I suspect Scandinavian manufacture.
Any comments or suggestions about these 'once a year" items would be appreciated.

Recipes for puddings are family hand downs. My Mum was never fond of cooking so I have been forced to look elsewhere. The traditional puddings are boiled in flour lined calico cloths. Silver coins and trinkets were placed in the mixture. On Xmas day grandfather Maurice O'Reilly delighted in getting me to eat more and more pudding in search of sixpence or thruppence pieces that he would pull out of his mouth. I had none and he had them all! Sucked in and bloated, I was a little, greedy pig. Where do "eating disorders" begin?
