It is about 7.5'' l..I think it may be a bobbin foor bobin lace?..It is hand turned and the skinniest part is only 1/8'' the top is fluted and has a hole in the top that goes down about 1-1/4'' .A bobbin is the only thing i can think of..thats just what it looks like to me. What it actally is , is a mystery..Do you Know?

thank you scottscruff...good guess! I didn't mention that the long stick part is very fragile and delicate. It would look lovely as a finial, but it is much too fragile..

If it was out by my lathe I would put it in the box with all the other pieces like it. I keep the unfinished or flawed stuff in that box so maybe the wood can be salvaged for another project.
