Ray thanks for your smart ass remark, next time do some research before you overload your mouth with your pea brain http://www.sodachest.com/sodaabout.htm
Ray I found sites that restore ice box no just coolers that offer instruction on how to replace the galvanized metal liner and insulation, offer decals and paints as well. I was irritated with your response and did do some research, sodachest.com, here is one listed one bay http://cgi.ebay.com/270656571785. Maybe you might consider that some people have the ability to restore generic rust box
My point is next time your response might have been, your generic box really has no value, restoration can be done but could be more expensive than the box would be worth. If you knew more about the coolers you could have suggested information, as that is what I was looking for. I would have graciously acknowledged your response for spending the time the site was set up for.
RetRN -- It seems like you pretty easily found the info and answers yourself. It would have been better if you had done that research before you posted. Then you would have known not to bother.
Also - the site is Show and Tell, meant for people to show off their collections and treasures. No where does it say the purpose is to research items. There is plenty of that going on, but it has gotten out of hand.
Ray - I think your response was fine - in keeping with the post, which one could have easily thought was a joke.
I think RetRn over reacted.
Believe me, there have been so many listings where I would have loved to have blasted the lister for putting up either obvious junk, or asking "what is this" when it was clearly marked, and also obvious that they had put in zero effort to find out on their own.
Apparently this raggedy cooler was the straw that broke both our backs. I hope that everyone reads this and learns to put a little effort into their posts.
That said - there are some fabulous items and collections that have been shared. And also I enjoy researching some of the harder to figure out items.
It would look good, but isn't worth a dime to coke, or any kind of soda collecter. I know I wouldn't want it if it didn't say "Drink coca cola" on it. I still think it is a really neat cooler though.
Drama, I love it.. Now i know how to get you people to look at my things. Personally i love the smart ass comments and hope to see more of it here. Its feeling more like home already.
