On the left is a rainbow lorikeet and elephant ear vine.
On the right a sulphur crested cockatoo and red flowering gum.
Two watercolours by the Davidson twins signed M.Davidson.
The twins were illustrators and photographers.
Their drawings of dogs are well known to anyone familiar with the definitive volume:Breed standards / R.A.S. Kennel Control ; [drawings: Mary and Peggy Davidson]. The drawings for this work must have taken years to complete.
They donated thousands of photos that are now part of the Sydney Heritage Fleet's "Davidson Collection". It is a collection of about 4000 maritime photographs, taken by the twin daughters of Alister Davidson, a former employee of Burns Philp.
