Bought this beauty very early yesterday morning at the Wentworth Park Collectables Fair in Sydney. It a monthly event and the best of it's type in OZ .
It is my first example of Loetz 's Aufs 166 which I belived first appeared in 1916. It is 10 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 " high. and perfect no damage to the fine fragile threading. The other great thing was the price $25!!!! ya got to win sometimes...

The addition of the black punts are pure design genius. Very nice.
Nice photos too, Marty! It's a beauty!
I love the low shape of it and being able to see the black outer dots from the inside, and the bottom's gorgeous!
this bowl must have made every other thing look like "old lady glass". modern for its time. - congrats
Great buy, Marty!
Thank you all for the great comments . It has pride of place in my display cabinet at the moment... till the next lovely piece comes along (wishful thinking!) .
FUNctional Fine Art!! Just three words, Fa-Bu-Lous!! This is my new favorite thing on CW, hands down, I hope you have a glass store, because if you don't, it would be a loss to the world!!! Thank goodness for the internet, so we can appreciate these awesome treasures. this bowl is "off the scale"...SUPER SUPER LOVE IT!! Mich
Bellin, I must agree with you that we are very lucky to have people of the caliber of Oz and Vet as two of the most skilled in (speedy)research, incredible breadth of knowledge, and most importantly, a genuine willingness to help out those who are floundering with our works, in my case, from my family, and need help so they don't sell very valuable stuff in a Garage sale, as I nearly did, but fortunately found this site about a week before the sale, I still made some mistakes, but, if not for CW, I would have made a lot more...c'est la vie. it is so nice to know what these articles are after a lifetime of living with and never knowing!! Thank you and all the great minds in this "Think Tank" called CW! Mich
Thank you Michelleeamieux and all the others as well. I am going to get a swollen head with all the praise etc...
I like to think that Ozzies are the type of people who like to help and give freely of their knowledge and time . I know it was through other people in my early days of collecting that guided me in that direction. Their names often escape me but the faces and lessons learnt do not.
Another gorgeous piece oz !! Oh yeah...and what they said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
