Her original nudie pictures were taken in May 1949 and she got all of $50 for the photo session. She had refused to do nudies but she was on hard times financially so she agreed. I believe Tom Kelley was the guy that took the pictures and Marilyn insisted his wife be there so there would be no funny business. She also used a false name when she signed the model release thinking nobody would know it was her.

You are right Packrat. The over picture is called Golden Dreams. Hugh Hefner bought the rights to it in 1952 and used it on the cover of the first edition of Playboy magazine.
Here is a quote from Marilyn about it during an interview:
In typical fashion, when asked if it was true she had nothing on when she posed, she replied "Oh no, I the radio on."
