My husband found this yesterday when they were digging at a job sight in Athen, Ohio. This bottle is from the 1800's. It has a few scratches but besides that its in great shape for its age. Its very heavy and the metal stopper was inside of it.

That is a soda bottle and that type of bottle closure is called a Hutchinson spring stopper.
Thanks for your knowledge. I put this on e-bay, only time will tell? My husband said he found me some more bottles today.
