This ring is 800 sterling, and pietra dura, from what I have found in checking similar items online. I am not sure whether it is from Florence or elsewhere or how old it is. Any information about this ring would be welcome.

I'll think Victorian and for the value I think around $ 150/$200. But you can also look on eBaycom or RubyLane.com what trade asks for such a jewel.
Great ring. I believe it is a piece of Victorian 'mourning' jewelry. The bird signifies the soul about to take flight into Heaven. I have seen another like it some years ago and that was the explanation given by a collector of mourning jewelry. Value could exceed $300+ for the right collector. Happy collecting!
