This bottle of coca cola root Athen, Ohio. This was found also, I heard that this might be a rare or scarce bottle? Can any of you tell me any more about this and maybe its age?

This bottle is more scarce than some because it is straight sided, instead of Coke's signature bottle shape. I believe that dates this bottle pre-1920. The fact that it is green glass dates it as well because before green glass, Coke was bottled in amber bottles. But I'm not sure when that switch was made.
This bottle is dated. Look to the right of "ROOT" on the heel. It is not a "Coke" but it is a Coca-Cola "Product" or Soda bottle. It is green probably because it was destined to hold a ginger drink. The color has nothing to do with amber Coke bottles which were issued at the same time as non-ambers but usually at different plants, and not after about 1918. Non script Root bottles (like this one) were issued at many plants from the early teens well into the late 20s, and all are dated. Look for that date (It is 2 digits!)
