This is a Sentinel Pocket Watch. I think that I've narrowed the era down to the 1930's. I feel that the face is consistent with that time period, as well as it being a wind up. It is in very good condition, still functioning. It is, however, very plain and much less ornate or decorative than other vintage pocket watches.

With the help of some friendly commenters below, I was able to pop open the back of the watch with a small flathead precision screwdriver and narrow down the date. Way off from my initial guesstimate. It appears this watch was produced in the late 50's-1957!

What you have is a dollar watch made by The E. Ingraham Company in Bristol, Conn. It is the "Sentinel Click". There should be numbers on the back plate of the movement indicating the date, ie, 3 47 = March 1947, 10 5o = October 1950 and so on.
There were the Sentinel, Sentinel Click, Sentinel Autocrat, Sentinel Sweep, Sentinel Travel, These are some I can think of off hand.

Ah, got it. I'll have to figure out how to take a look inside without damaging it. Haven't tried to before.

As AR8Jason stated, the back cover of this watch will pop off by using finger nail or a thin pocket knife blade. Once removed you can see the movement with markings on it. I will post some photos of some of the different date markings that Ingraham used. I wish there was a way to post them right here to keep them in the same thread.
