This lamp was one of the first pieces my Mom bought after Dad got home from WW2 It was originally the colored in that aluminum or pot metal that Colonial Premier usually did their pieces in, but Mom loved that lamp so that in the late 60s or 70s, she had it redone in brass. It's HEAVY! Many a night I'd get home from school, college or wherever and I could always spot this lamp a mile away because of the uniqe regular bulb/Florescent light combo. I loved to flop on the couch and read by it because of the great double light and gentle buzz that could lull you to sleep meaning that often I'd find my book trying to read my face! If anyone has more info. on these interesting lights, let me know!
