Just found this in my mom's basement...said it was my great grandfathers bought back from Australia in the 1940's when you was stationed there. Its signed on the back John Timbery.

There is a shield by John Timbery in the Powerhouse Museum here in Sydney.
He lived in La Perouse a suburb of southern Sydney where many indigenous people live today. He had a stall at the Sydney Easter Show and did demonstrations of boomerang throwing as these documents outline:

Joe Timbery exhibited his throwing skills from the Eiffel Tower, Paris and before Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Sydney in 1954. John was Joe's brother and was also a fisherman and craftsman.

Hi my name is Jeff Timbery the Boomarang was made by my Grand Mothers older brother who both have passed away now. I would love to trade you my family still make Aboriginal Artifacts my Father & I still make arts & crafts. It would Awsome to see with it looking in such good condition
