I look to have this sign for month, this is one of the rarest tin sign in coca cola, the sign is from 1947 and is self framed, they were used on the side of coca cola truck after WW2 to give coca cola bottles to people
I manage to sold some old sabena counter displays from the 30's to buy it
I'm really happy with it.

Hi, I'm sure it's an original they were used in france on trucks :

They used the same image for the beveled edge german glass
by the way, Pettreti's book are great but for me it's incomplete, I saw many signs ( coke and soda signs ) that were not in his books especially european signs
no problem, for the price, the american market is high for this one, I got this one for 180 € in France
What would that be in canadian or US money?
Very cool sign! Spriteboy pieces are my favorite!!
Hi, that's 236 US$ or 235 CAN$
thats a sweet deal.
Petretti focuses mostly on US Coca-Cola memorabilia, which is by far, more popular and valuable than foreign items...in most but not all cases.
here's one on eBay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coca-Cola-Sprite-Boy-Round-Metal-Advertising-Bottle-Sign-Depose-Havas-/380412388858
The like item auction on eBay ended at 38,432 JPY or 476 USD.
There are 3 versions of this sign from Europe and were distibuted in Germany/France/Belgium and possibly more countries. I have all 3 versions in my collection - there is the Tin sign, the glass sign and a cardboard version. All have exactly the same graphics and are roughly the same size. I guess it just depended on how much you spent with coca-cola at the time as to what version you got given. My favoutite is the glass version as the colours are so bright and vivid, and this is very hard to find (also on Petrittis) as many are chipped and damaged. The Tin version I have is absolutely Mint and even came with original paper wrapper. I have owned 2 cardboard versions too. Let me know if you want me to post photos of any.
Hi, thanks for all the details about the sign, I saw several times the tin sign and the glass one but never the cardboard sign, could you post pictures those
thanks
