My husband was out metal detecting and found this coin would like to know what it is, what it is made of and any value. It was minted in 1854. please let us know. Thank you

   If you go to EBay and look up French coins you will find some there

   Here is one site that lists several others also. Evey site I visited mentions gold or bronze but not silver. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091231141715AATBsYS
   
   You can also type in the words that appear on the coin into the google search engine.

   Thank you for your comments on Ebay could not find the exact coin,
   nor on yahoo will try the google but so far no info on OUR coin, iyamloved
