I've developed a thing for flexible nibs, and came across this beauty on a Snorkel, as a Buy-It-Now item, for $85. Jackpot!
I'm hoping that a theory someone shared with me regarding the two-tone open nibs, proves true; that the masked two-tone open nibs, as opposed to the in-laid two-tone nibs, are the flexible ones of the bunch.
I'll find out when I receive another masked nib I won on an ebay auction arrives.

I believe the tipoff that this open nib is flexible is the nib's lack of an engraved line between the platinum mask and the lower portion of the nib, which is 14k gold. Almost all two-tone nibs made by Sheaffer would have a defined, engraved line separating the halves of the nib and are firm writers, though smooth and very enjoyable. I have heard about the flex nibs that didn't have an engraved line, but yours is the first I've seen. Congrats on acquiring a very unusual and desirable Snorkel.
