Here is another unidentified Finnish piece of glass that I received as a gift from my grandmother in Helsinki. Although it is unusual and has sentimental value, I must admit the colour is not my favourite. I prefer clear glass unless it is a mouth-blown glass bird.

Just for the record, I'm only trying to identify the style. This item is not for sale. My sincere thanks for all of your replies to my previously posted iittala candle holder, which someone was kind enough to identify as "BOLERO KYNTTILÄN - JALKA Tapio Wirkkala". That posting has been deleted due to a misunderstanding, so I'm not able to post my thank you there. I was most definitely not selling that item here as it has already been promised to a friend, however it was classified as a "for sale" posting and therefore removed by the administrator of this website. I completely understand the reason for not allowing posts of that kind here.

Many thanks! I just love this website!

Thanks very much for your comments and suggestion, and especially for helping me identify this piece. I'll do a bit of internet research to confirm this is a Humppila (a place I've visited in Finland) by Pertti Santalahti, and report back here.

I have reposted the Bolero candle holder as an item in my collection, and have included my thanks to vetraoi5 there. You folks are amazing!

Despite my love of nature, green is not my favourite colour for glass, but I'm really glad you like it. There's certainly a lot of green around Humppila (at least there was when I visited in 1969). :)

    Thanks again!

(lol) No, I don't mind at all. I was just about to post that I had found an identical bowl but in a different colour. Yes, it was the very same link you just posted, and I wasn't sure if we were allowed to do that here.

Thanks once again for posting. I spend literally hours on the internet trying to find stuff and usually end up getting sidetracked. Had I not removed the sticker years ago (yes, I know that was pretty dumb of me), it would have been easier for me to narrow down my search.

I've seen the glass being blown in person, but watching it on YouTube is equally cool. With the internet, we get to travel virtually (in both senses of the word) around the world at the click of a mouse. No jet lag this way!
