Here is a nice example of an Alexander Pfohl, Jr. design for Josephinenhütte, ca. 1927, as documented (by shape) in the book Josephinenhütte, Art Deco - Art Nouveau - Modern, 1900-1950 by Stefania Zelasko (see last photo scan). Triple cased (inner layer of white surrounded by clear, then green glass), and beautifully enameled with a large ground and polished pontil. Unsigned.

*Alexander Pfohl, Jr. studied in Vienna at an early age with such masters as Koloman Moser, Michael Powolny, and others at the Wiener Werkstaette. After four years in the army and the end of World War I, he moved to Silesia, where he was put in charge of designs for Josephinenhütte, until moving back home in 1928 as a professor at the Novy Bor (Haida) Glass School. While there he originated many designes for such firms as Kulka, Goldberg, Hosch, Palda, and Moser, among others. His influence on designers in Germany and the Czech Republic are felt to this day.
