Been trying to identify this for over 50 years. Has solid matching candlesticks. Writing in the smooth part of bottom but too small to read. Butterflies are applied to vase it appears. Is it a Loetz? Thanks for any information.

YES. It is Loetz made after 1918. After 1918 the loetz mark is CHECO SLOVAKIA in an oval or ( as in your case ) a square. Go to the web site LOETZ.COM and on the left click IDENTIFYING and you will find this info.
The decor of your set is Loetz Papillon.
correction : the correct spelling is CZECHO SLOVAKIA
LoetzBuddies is correct..100% Deco period Loetz Papillon with the correct mark for that period.
Thank you so much and I wish my Mother was hear to finally have it confirmed what it was. She wondered for years as have I. The candlesticks have no mark on them but she bought them together at an auction when I was very young. It would have been over 60 years ago. She never could find anything like it with the butterflies. Thank you, thank you!!! Phyllis
Wonderful Vase, Love the Butterfly!
