Nice Bubble cut barbie all original and in box wow ! The dates on their bottoms stayed the same year after year, The bubble cut came out in about 1961 . Not as sought after as some of the other Barbies but she is lovely and . Yours is on correct body for time as the 1st bubble cuts were marked Barbie and later marked midge , The number on other side is the mold number . She is marked with date of 1958 in roman numerals . Mattel would use same year for many years . Newer barbies can be found marked 1968 but came out this year and that confuses buyers .
MCMLVII (translates to 1958)
Hope this helps :-)

Hi,
Nice #5 bubble cut with pak pajamas. She would have come with a zebra striped swimsuit, sunglasses, shoes, earrings, stand, wrist tag and a booklet. The box may or may not be correct for her. If it is, it should say bubblecut on the bottom along with the stock #850. The box looks to be an early one though as it has some of the early clothing pictured on it. The box in good shape may be more valuable than the doll.

ooops! My browser just opened the rest of the pictures, and the box is correct for the doll, very nice!
