For a long time now, I have collected Czech shades, particularly after discovering that most of them are routinely passed off as Loetz.
My only available source was Jo Ann Thomas on selections from the R. Williamson Lamp Catalog, v. 15. On the cover there was a picture of one of my shades, which I found under the section called "Teplitz shades". I had the matching Pallme König vases, and the factory was in the town of Teplitz, now called Teplice. I gathered over 100 shapes from several Williamson catalogs. Most are sold as Loetz, and some--I confess mea culpa--were sold as Krlaik. I was mistaken. Pallme König is the undisputed maker of all the Teplitz shades.
As in this lamp. Opalescent green glas with pink-red spots and burgundy drips. 14" tall. The shade is documented as Teplitz 6007. Not a Loetz lamp. A Pallme König lamp. Seven months ago (scroll way down) I posted two vases as Kralik. The one on the left is the same decor as the example here next to the shade. There were comments about my vase at the time confirming that it was Kralik. So I guess that my original hunch that it was Pallme-Konig was correct.
That's mea culpa. I first classified these vases a PK then switched to Kralik and abruptly recanted when I found that my "Kralik" shades were in the Willliamson Teplitz catalogs and matched these vases. At least I recognize my mistakes. We are dealing with glass for which up to now there has been no documentation. It's ironic that whatever there is comes from American catalogs!
