I was treasure hunting not long ago when I happened to notice this neat little shiny tray amongst a bunch of not so appealing clutter. As I inspected the top portion of the tray, I was intrigued by its intersecting lines and two leaf type images stamped into it. I then flipped it over and noticed that it bore the name Revere and Rome, N.Y. I instantly knew that name and I am somewhat familiar with its history. Knowing that the infamous Paul Revere history is tied to the Revere company, I knew that I had to purchase this piece just to research it. Besides, it was only the cost of a pack of gum.
I brought the piece back home and researched it all night. Nothing!!! I started to close all of my open windows on my computer on Revere and then , Bingo!!! I decided to try a link that really did not look like it was related to it at all. After clicking the link, the first thing that I see is the tray.
The tray is Art Deco material. The information was overwhelming and much too long to post here. I was really fortunate to find this tray and, I'm very amazed that it's tied to Revere and Norman Bel Geddes, maybe not directly the way it sounds. It's a wonderful piece of American History.
