AUTHENTIC TIFFANY & CO. WORLD BOX PORCELAIN, found this at goodwill for $3.99 today and i could NOT believe it either , so when i gotten home did some checking and call the 1-800-843-3269 the customer service number and it was on their website selling for $65.00, the reason why i called is because it says japan under the tiffany &co. tiffanys customer service said yes in fact that they had these produced or made in japan. very cool theres no chips or cracks etc this is in perfect shape and very beautiful piece.

Love it. I, too, was thrown by the Japan, that is interesting to know. If ever I see a Tiffany, made in Japan, I won't be so quick to think of it as a knock-off!! I have traveled, not enough, and globes are one of my loves. When I broke my back, I had to downsize and sold my fabulous Globe Collection that had started with my Grandpa's collection...one of my great regrets..., but I still have maps. This is a great functional art piece. p.s. Take lots of vitamin C, like Linus Pauling said, it creates a very hostile environment for bugs!!
