Just scored this "Watling" lollipop penny scale. The printing on the scale dial reads patent 1914-1915 and it was originally in a local pharmacy for many years. It has some damage but is repairable. The mechanism functions but is in need of calibration (something new to learn).
Update 06/05/12
The 3 hot pink photos are after I restored the scale. Why hot pink? I did it to go with the other pastel colored objects in the garage. The paint is base/coat -clear/coat application after roughing up the porcelain with 80 grit sand paper and priming it. Most of the mechanism and the backing were highly polished and I added a mirror to the back. it has also been adjusted and is pretty accurate.
