Hi, I would say 1900 to 1920's thats just a guess. The label seems to have that eras look to me. Must be seal judging by the label. I sure could use a muff, winter has finally blown in to Minnesota. If you live in the cold like me dont let that great treasure hide in the closet! What better way to honer your dear friend, plus turn some heads. But make sure you look up fur care, cleaning, storage. I have lost a few great old fur coats in my time as a teen due to not respecting the age and material of things. Happy hunting!

vintagemad is correct - it is definitely a muff with a coin purse, ca. 1920s or early 1930s. It may be seal but it may also be mink; seal has a definite glossy/shiny sheen to it and usually has more black/dark colors than mink. Judging by the label though (looks like it has a seal on it?) that company or department store carried seal items so I think that is indeed what it is. Having been a vintage clothing dealer and collector for almost 20 years, there are 2 things you should never do with fur: 1. Don't ever store it in plastic bags or in a high humidity area! it will end up with dryrot. also 2. don't keep it anywhere near mothballs as the smell will never come out. Store it lying flat, loosely covered with cheesecloth or cotton (a cotton pillowcase works great). Lovely piece!
