This is a 1942 Craftsman 26" Jig Saw That originally sold for $42.50 w/ Craftsman 1/3 HP motor, however this has a "Domestic Electric Company" motor dated 1919. Yes, it still works

Sorry but Domestic only existed until 1929 when Black and Decker purchased it. Also this is a 1/5 H.P. Motor and I fail to see anything that says Craftsman or 1942.... maybe it's just my old eyes?

So many of the Craftsman products were manufactured by Black and Decker up until the 1990's when Sears, Roebuck and Co changed over to Ryobi as there manufacture of craftsman power tools.

Pop_abides - Yes, you are correct it's 1/5 (typo). The saw came with a Craftsman motor "however this has a ..." this is according to the 1942 Craftsman Tool Catalog which I have.
