I bought this item and it's a Samson Massage a Belt. Works and everything. Needs a little touching up but I can not find information on it. Like a date or copyright. If you know anything about this item I sure would like to hear it!!!!!!!!!

I remember my Mom having one and I tried it out once LOL it vibrates like crazy but she never got thin using it so I don't think they work on weight loss . I have no idea when your machine was made but i do know the concept of these machines dates back to about the 30's I believe and continued from then on . Love the memory it gave me of my Mom :-) Thanks for sharing it and I hope someone can date yours I believe there is someone on CW that can do that :-)

If you Google for vintage samson massage-a-belt you will find lots of them listed. Mostly on sites like Craig's list or other sites selling items. The ones I saw had asking prices from $39 to $150 in working condition. There were a few listed on ebay but didn't seem to be attracting bids. I remember a neighbor of our had one of them in the late 1950's. If there is a patent number on it you might be able to research it through that. Can't see the entire data plate in the picture.

To Manikin: I agree with thinking you don't actually lose weight on it lol. I actually bought this at a yard sale for $1.50 and when I saw it I had to have it. I saw it on a Betty Boop cartoon before and was like WOW!! I called the person on Craigslist with it and they have the same one but he told me he has no clue about anything lol. Glad it made someones day by me posting it :)

To fhrjr2: The patent is pending is all it says. Looked all over the place for some kind of numbers and nothing. I searched the web and also saw the ones for sale but can find no one who can tell me anything about it. I got so much as the dates are about the 30's-50's but no specific date. Someone told me on American Pickers they had one that was not in the best shape that they sold for $600. but I can not see that happening. Not to mention that I just love it. Never thought I would own something that neat. Thank you for you comment :)

Crazymom that one was on Storage wars that sold that high . I thought the guy that pd it was off his rocker :-) It was on a few weeks ago . They took it to a dealer and sold it to him . I am sure it 'The gambler " Daryl that found it in a locker he got on the machine for a few minutes and why the dealer pd that much I am not sure it was exactly 600 but it was maybe 400 ? memory is failing me :-)

Manikin: Memory not failing you lol. What I said was hear say. Didn't see the episode so not sure how much it was. I thought it was terribly high though. And to your mention that he was off his rocker, I agree. I mean it's neat but 400-600 for it. Nope I would pass lol.
