This silver plate, iced-water pitcher, was my very first, and still favorite, antique purchase, which sparked my interest and appreciation for, "old things".
Wilcox Quadruple Plate - stamped: Pat. April 30th 1878 / Reissued Oct. 8. 1878 / Pat. Oct. 29th 1878
Along the way, I learned, that this pitcher, was probably commissioned by a hotel, and used as part of their dining service.
The amazing thing, is that the white porcelain liner, is fully intact, with NO cracks, chips, stains, or damage of any kind! Lucky me!
Side Note ~ I know this is the Sterling Silver category, but I failed to find, another category, remotely close, to pop this listing into.
I've seen SO many examples, of fine silver plate, over the years, and there really should be, a separate category, for them! : )
