Another Ideal Mystery!! This was my Aunt Bobby's Doll, similar to my Mom's but bigger with blue eyes. A total mystery to me!! Back of the head has cracked, but it is covered by her little bonnet. Thank you, Michelle
Michelle I believe both the dolls are Ideal named "Baby beautiful" Dolls produced in 1947 by Ideal company :-)

Your welcome Michelle and don't mind the guys they like to tease about our nude dolls but they do learn so when they see one they will know what they are buying :-) This one needs repair to nack of head I would just take care no more chiped off . But we can clear her eyes up :-)
I told the gents, the "Coup de Grace" will be my Mom's Carmen Miranda doll, the guys will fall off the fences into Dollyland when the get a look at this cha cha cha Carmen Dolly!! As to this doll, Aunt booby's Doll, apart wear, this is the only doll with damage. The plastic is so hard that there is little chance of it tearing or chipping. I believe someone must have placed her back against a window, in the sun, which made the hard plastic crack. But it is not at all fragile, and is fortunately the very back, that's why I think her head was placed against a sunny window. The Bonnet covers her perfectly. these are not the original clothes, and somewhere I have a bag of old Doll Clothes, nurses outfit, I will have to find those. The eyes on my Mom's doll and the old Mystery (World Co.) doll are definitely matte. This doll's eyes are better. Watch out boys, I'm going to post my Troll collection, and they are ALL NAKED!!! Hi Manikin, I was just doing a bit of math, and if the both are 1947, my Mom would have been 12, and my Aunt 14. They would seem a little old for these dolls. I saw a photo of my Mom holding her doll and she looks maybe, 7 or 8. I will find that and see if, by chance, it is dated. My Mom had discovered sports by the age of ten, definitely a tomboy, and n longer into dolls. That is the only thing that leaves me curious, the date 1947. It just seems too late for their age. My Mom was born in '35 and Aunt in '33. So I am wondering i they had a similar doll that came out from '40 to perhaps '43, which would be stretching it, as Aunt Bobby would already be ten, getting old for baby dollies. I'm sure they were bought at the same time, but I would think it would be closer to '40, that would make more sense to their ages. Another mystery...Thanks again, Mich

yes they could be from 43 . Dolls are hard to pin exact year on that far back but in the 40's and they they actually made these type of composition dolls much earlier also . This doll has what we call flirty eyes they move side to side . Ok bring on the Cha Cha girls !!!!
