I was so excited a few minutes ago when I remembered that I wanted to post this bowl. I've had this and a matching bowl for a few years, as well as a set of glasses and plates of the same design, ( bought as a lot ).
The woman at the store where I purchased them said that they came out of a home is Chatham, MA, and that the family was Czech, and had a lot of old Czech/Bohemian glass.
I'm American, with a Czech/ Italian heritage,.....so when I heard ' CZECH ' I got all goose bumpy!:) but then again, I get 'goose bumpy' when I see anything beautiful!
The bowl is 13 3/8 inches in diameter, and it's a knock-out! The whole set is impressive, but the glasses and plates have a lot of chipping. The bowls, though, are immaculate.
Do you think that they are indeed Czech?
and any idea who may have made them??
Thanks in advance for any comments.
