The little girl in this photograph is just beautiful! Based on her jewellry, she probably came from a well to do family as well.
The image is a NINTH plate and housed in a full wood case. The photographer is identified as "B. Grammer, Artist" on the bottom right corner between the cover glass and mat. I just love it when photographers used these paper labels to mark their products.
The image most likely dates from about 1854- 1863. It is identified and supposed to be out of Maryland, but I haven't had the time to research it yet.
Reproduction of this image in any form is not authorized.
Thanks for viewing.

Thanks for looking walksoftly.

Thanks scott. Rarely do you see a smile in these early, extended exposure, photographs.
In fact a smile in a daguerreotype or ambrotype will usually add significantly to value and collector interest.
Scott
smile or not price value is small on most pics unless its someone of special interest
OK-- what is this photograph worth?
Scott
with the frame i sell for around 45.00 to 65.00 all the money is in the frame
Interesting-- I thought you said I only posted "buck or two photos"!
By the way the 1/9th plate CASES are readily available in the $10- $20 range.
Scott
lol i know wnated to see what you would say and the pic itself you can pic up for a buck or two just about anywhere
You would be hard pressed to find an IDd ambrotype of a cute girl with a photographer marked matting for a buck or two. There is a difference between this an a post CW loose tintype.
By the way, if she were smiling the price would probably double.
Scott
how much would you give me for some
I would pay your full price: a buck or two!
Thanks for looking Manikin.
