I recently purchased a huge amount of vintage jewelry. Almost 30Lbs all mixed & tangled up together. This is one of the necklaces. As I was going through the jewelry a few of the strands broke. I have not tested the clasp for gold but it has no magnetic response & I think the pearls are real. I need some advice, should I re-strand the pearls or leave it as is? Thanks for looking.

Hi everyone thanks for all the comments. I think 7-10 strands broke:( I have not counted them yet, scared I may loose more. I was actually going to restring them myself. My mother makes beaded jewelry and she has all the proper threads, tools and special magnifying lights etc that I would need. I have repaired & restrung many piece's but mostly for my own personal use & collection. This is why I hesitate to repair the necklace.
I find this piece beautiful but its not my style and will likely flip it. I personally do not have a problem purchasing repaired pieces as long as they are represented as such and done well plus repaired pieces are usually less expensive. But I'm a costume jewelry Gal so I am a bit out of my element with this piece. I don't know how collectors of this type of jewelry feel about condition and repair's?
I guess the first thing I should do is test for gold, if it tests positive I will take it to a jeweler and see what they have to say about it. I am likely over thinking this and will find out it was made in China Yesterday........LOL! I will let everyone know what happens. Thanks again.
P.S I can't wait to see your pieces bratjdd, and your Awesome too! That goes for everyone here on CW.
