These were purchased in New England and are believed to be Shaker. Other than that, I don't know anything about them but they look like good quality.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out in finding out some more information about these. Could anyone please help me out with some more information about this piece; age, period, maker, origin, value, etc?

I hate to say this but they will be difficult to trace. When I lived in New Hampshire my father in law and his uncle turned these nested boxes out by the dozens. They coated them with turpentine then lit them on fire and rubbed it out to make it look old. I am talking the 50's and 60's.
Yes, I have seen that too. Making the boxes look much older than they are or to make them look "original" when they are reproduction. I love the Shaker boxes with the "fingers", they are really nice. But I would never buy one online because you cannot see for sure if they are the real deal. I do see something in your picture I am wondering about though, that basket just out of reach at the very top on the right of the pic. What basket is that? It looks like it might be made of Rivercane but I cannot be sure without a better picture. Can you post one?
Tlynnie1942, I don't have a picture on my computer of the basket but I will try and post one soon. I a bunch of native baskets from the NW to the SE and I would love to share them.
