This piece belonged to my husband's Aunt, who passed away in May of 2011 at the age of 90. It was her favorite piece purchased in Arizona many years ago. Fortunately for me, my husband's Uncle, who is 92, wanted me to have it. He simply told me it was called "Pawn" due to the fact years ago the Indians would trade or pawn their valuables at stores in exchange for sundry items. It is marked e. yazzie on the back but no sterling marks. My Uncle said it was made before the law was passed that metal content had to be somewhere on the item. At any rate, I love it.

Google E. Yazzie and you will have plenty of results return. Many will be ebay listings, but there are also some research sites that may be useful. Looks like the E stands for Evelyn. Nice piece!
