I have had this for years and know nothing about it. I can't find any Marks on it that whould help ID it. There is what looks like Gold Inlay Pictures on both sides. Thanks to Chrisnp, I now know what I have.
Now I would love to know when this Sword was made. The Blade is 231/2" and comes to a point.

Well, I can get you started in the right direction. This is a European style gentleman's hunting sword, known in Germany as a hirshfanger. The hunting dog heads and and boars head are common decorations for hunting swords, and it looks like the blade has a hunting scene. Design varies, but usually these are short swords with about a 24 inch blade coming to a point. Back in the days of muzzle loading hunting rifles, the hunting sword was used to finish off the animal rather than waste another shot. Hunting swords were used for hundreds of years, and I have no idea how old yours might be.

Looks neat and old, though I can not remember ever seeing without an antler handle. Check out the Wehrmacht Awards site edged weapons sections.
One thing you should consider would be to put a VERY light coat of food grade mineral oil on the blade using a soft rag. If there is no further info on your hunting sword consider going to Bernard Levines ID forum on http://www.bladeforums.com
I doubt you'll get an exact date but someone there may get you closer.
