There was an old stained glass shop next door to the old Military Surplus store I would frequent. I went in one day just nosing around, and made small talk with the owner. He was a nice guy, showed me his back room and over stock. In the back corner were thse, stacked up. He told me they came from an old apartment building that got torn down. It was the center piece of an 6 foot long window that went above each door way. He liked the fancy glass on each side of the "B" part, but removed the center, and said he could reuse the sides, and he didn't know what he was going to do with the "B" section of the glass.
Well, my last name begins with a "B" so I took all 4, at $40 bucks each. I gave one to each of my brothers for Christmas, hung one in the door glass of my house, and the other is in the kitchen window.
According to the shop owner, the building was built in 1909, and this glass came from unit "B"......Its a shame an old building like that got torn down. This window glass looks great at my door. Will never find another like it!
