This large piece of US Post Office History has beveled glass windows and larger package cubicles at bottom. Came out of the 49er town Grass Valley, CA Post Office c.1890. Box is dovetailed and only one keyhole is missing. Some red painted numerals faintly still there. Great patina to the brass. Approx 35" tall by 27" wide.
