In history many jewelry were submitted by products of animals such as tortoise shell, ivory, horn, animal teeth and whale baleen. Fortunately, nowadays this is largely prohibited. But here are two examples of old jewelry were made of such products.
From the 17th century The Netherlands started with commercial whaling. One of these products of the whale was whale baleen. This ring was made of whale baleen wrapped with gold. There is a boar (looking to left) hallmark.

Next a snake horn bracelet with ivory eyes. The carvings on head and tail are finished with a lighter substance (kind of paint?).
Who can tell me more about the above mentioned hallmark and perhaps the fabric used on the bracelet?
