Here are two items that my wife got from her father who was a world class traveler and collector of interesting objects. The item on the right is made with a Moroccan 5 dirham coin dated AH 1299 (AD 1861) and may be a pin to secure a cape ? The other item might be Native American? Both have loops at 12 oclock and are silver. Any one know for sure?

The one you refer to as native American is interesting. Did the gentleman ever travel to South America by chance?
He spent a lot of time in Mexico, not sure if he ever went further south.
The first item I don't know but the second is almost the same as mine. I bought it in Morocco already a lot of years ago now I think it was about 1968. Mine is dated 1321 Islamic year (1903). So yours is still older that means the coin. It was used as closure for a coat or something like that.
Thanks Agram, that confirms my guess.
