I bought a walnut Drexel "Declaration" Secretary from 1959 in a resale shop in Long Beach, CA, in about 1995. It was in excellent shape. I paid around $200. How much did you pay, and when? I immediately changed all the hardware to small pulls similar to the metal ones on the top, and like the sleeker look much better. Thanks for the excellent photos, and the identifying name.
I have a cabinet that is the same as this but with a motorola stereo built in. It is a tube radio (that still works great) and a pull out record player. I have not been able to find any info on this piece. It was a craigslist find for $100 :). Does anyone know where to find more info?

@lewette f. - would you be interested in selling me your white knobs? I found this secretary at an estate sale but it has terrible silver floral knobs instead of the white ceramic ones, which I prefer.
