We inherited an old blanket from my husband’s family. We believe it to be an Indian blanket as it has the whirling logs, etc. It was given to my father-in-law (now deceased and who would have been 81 this year) from his parent’s estate. We believe it is pre-WWII but really not sure.
The border appears to be some silk type with some tattering but the blanket overall is in great shape with no tears, rips, etc. It is approx. 67” x 67” in size.

This is what is refered to as a Beacon Style or Camp Blanket. They are not made by native Americans, but are made in native american and western designs. They were made by a number of different Mills, Beacon being one of the largest. Made in the 40's and 50's during the heyday of radio and t.v. cowboys. Here is a examle of some that have sold on ebay.

Thanks for your input! My husband and I thought that it has to be pre-WWII because of the Swastika emblem - no company would have made something in the 40's or beyond.
Stand corrected, I googled beacon camp blankets and came up with ton's of information. While they were made in the 40's and 50's, some were made as early as the 20's and 30's. I would suspect yours would be from that era. It seems that any cotton milled blanket with this type of motiff is considered a Beacon Style Blanket.
