Hello Friends,
I picked this up at Goodwill about 7 or 8 years ago. It was on the front counter when I went in and a real vision of beauty. There's just a bit of wear to the gold,( not much ), but not a chip, crack or repair,.....the condition's astounding considering the age, ( 1910's - 20's? ), and the road to that counter.
The incised design, Art Nouveau in style, is wonderful.
I found the identical piece,( the blank ), on Ruby Lane a number of years ago, it wasn't incised or gold leafed,......that piece was marked Rosenthal.
I guess that Rosenthal must've sold blanks to other companies, who would then decorate them, adapting them to their own line of offerings.
Any idea who may have decorated this piece?, and do you think it is also a Rosenthal blank?
Thank You, Tony
