The General Electric 7F56 'Vedette' electric alarm clock was patented in 1935 by noted Telechron/G.E. designer Raymond E. Patten. Streamline stlying with a Bakelite case and polished aluminum bezel and trim band.

Really nice looking Deco clock. It never fails to impress me, how artful photos can take a nice object and make it "stellar". Showing the patten drawings ads even more interest to your post.
I took a look at the rest of your posts and must say its nice to see what someone can do when they have a focus. I on the other hand may have too many.

Thanks for the compliments, Bootson! Re 'focus' - this is mostly what I do when I should be focusing on other things....

I try to present my collection as appealingly as I can because I think many of these Deco-Moderne era designs/designers are pretty amazing and deserve a lot more attention than they typically get. If I can catch someone’s notice with a sharp photo, then maybe I’ve done my bit.

My grandfather ray patten designed this clock and Im looking to get one for my collection. Do you know where I can find one?

    Dwight,
It's a pleasure to 'meet' you. Your grandfather has long been a favorite designer of mine, and I'm proud to own a number of the clocks he was responsible for at G.E. The 'Vedette' is pretty hard to come by. I saw a Utility Timer version of the clock sell on eBay earlier this year for well over $100. That was the first in maybe 2 years. Your best bet may be to try the Telechron.net Forum - many folks with extensive collections/contacts there. Mention your family connection.... You could also try VintageClocks4U.com They seem to get a steady flow of rare GE/Telechron clocks and also have a search service. Good luck! Dana

    Thanks for the info. Chadakoin.
I will look into those sites. So far I have only the Gazelle toaster, coffee service and a bunch of old photos. I'm also looking for some of the trains he designed. Drawings of course :-) Could not fit the real one on my living room.
