Thank you Tugrubaugh,Bratjdd,Kerry,AR8 Jason, and Toolate2.My bookends are cast iron,a magnet sticks. The bottoms are smooth and the backs have dots impressed into the iron. Its nice to have a date on the age of these bookends. My attic was loaded with antiques when I bought my house over thirty years ago.The previous owners died and I was left with the contents. The first winter in my house work was slow and I lived off of the silver I found in the attic. I still have some old silver pieces I saved.
It is great to make a connection and see other people with the same things and similar interests.
