This is a really great miniature Tlingit Rattletop basket I got a couple months ago. It stands 3 and a half inches tall with the top on, and about the same in diameter. It is a cream color in the weave, with 4 color imbrication in Yellow and Dark Tan, Gray and Black. It is rare to find 4 color imbrication on these and on top to find a miniature that is intact! There is a pic of the inside of the top which shows it has been woven shut. Before that happens, tiny pebbles are placed in the top and that is what makes "the rattle". When I bought it, the bottom was bowed out so that it did not sit properly (the bulge was more than half of the bottom) which is how I was able to afford it. After I got it, I was able to fix the bottom so it now sits flat and is perfect! I am not saying here how I did this as I would not want anyone to try it themselves and ruin something. I was not even sure it would work and I really think I got incredibly lucky with it. Anyways, the weave is really intricate and tiny and I feel so happy that I was able to be able to get this for my collection. It is a true beauty for sure. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
