This would have been a coin show sponsored by a local or regional coin club. Medals are often issued in conjunction with coin shows. best way to research it would be in the local newspaper which may be on micro film at the library . Chech out the ads usually in the classified sections. There may also be some news about the show in publications like Cal Coin News which would be at the state historical society and available through interlibrary loan if you live in Calif. Generally this type of medal is not very valuable and can be purchased for 3.00 or less.
