It was love at first sight with this shade, and I just had to have it. One of my favorite Kralik lines of the art deco period, IRIS came in many combinations of bright contrasting colors, all flashed in a thin layer of amber colored glass, and in the case of this shade, wrapped in glass windings in the same color as the flashed layer. When unlit, this shade almost looks like a mirror! But underneath there is a layer of mottled blue and white with millefiori canes in orange and yellow.
I have a pair of vases in this decor (without the windings) as well as a bowl, which has an original paper label with the word IRIS on it. Photo number 3 above shows the interior colors clearly, and photo number 4 shows the shade in use and lit.
