Hello from this beautiful Spring day!
I drove around listening to a CD that was the perfect anthem to love, (French, vintage 1964, from one of my all time favorite films), perfect for the way I felt about being alive,...........today anyway:).
After work I did a bit of thrifting and found this mug.
When I first saw it I thought it was a new
but when I turned it over I was delighted to discover that it wasn't.
My thought is that it was made for a special occasion.
Does it look familiar to anyone?
or maybe someone knows something more about it?
Thank You,
Tonino

Hi Tony!
It's a bit too xenophobic for me!
LOL!
I think the decoration may be new.
(S)he took a piece of Falcon ware and put some overglaze decoration on it and signed it Thorpe. It might even be the British getting ready for the Games!
Hello Kevin,
I think you're right, that it's an old piece with new decoration. I had that hunch when I first looked at the bottom, but then I didn't know what to think.
Maybe it was done for the games as you suggest, it reads,' Buy British ', ' British Made ', and ' England for Ever ',............that could fit.
It's an interesting piece though, kind of tickles me.
Thanks for your comment,
you always teach me something.
Ciao Friend,
T.
