This is a small basket made by the Washoe Tribe. I have had this one for about a year now. It is oval in shape and the lid is held to the basket with a small leather tie. It has the tell tale start that all Washoe baskets have in the middle of the bottom and this one, also the lid. I got this one off Ebay and it was listed as just a small basket. I won it for less than 12 dollars if I remember right, I know it was not more than 15 dollars at most including shipping. I love all Native American basketry as you can tell from my listed items here...lol. I am Cherokee (mom) and Choctaw (dad) and have been gifted many baskets from friends and family. I lost alot of it when I got sick and was forced to sell a good part of my collections. Things are much better now and for the past few years I have been picking up a piece here and there. I know I cannot get back what was lost but all things happen for a reason, the baskets I have now are part of new memories and moving forward. Every basket tells a story and you can read it if you look close enough. Enjoy the pictures.
