This is one of my beaded whimsys that was made in either New York or Canada. It was made to hold matches. It is about 6 inches high and 4 3/4's wide. I put pics of both sides to show there is no damage, and all the beading is intact all around and on the bottom. The maker used opaque beads of white, clear, blue, brown and yellow. Really nice and I think there may be a lock of hair placed in the back of it, in the middle. There is a lump there and when I try to move it, it separates a little and it really does feel like a lock of hair. But the only way to know for sure would be to open the back up and I will not do that. I will just leave it alone and wonder to myself what is in there..haha.
These were made by the Iroquois Native Americans for the tourist trade, many were made to sell at Niagara Falls.

    Enjoy the pics :)

Me too, BELLIN. I want so much to know what is hidden inside on the back, I think it is a lock of hair from the way it separates when I move it. But I would have to cut open the back to find out and I just cannot do that. So, I will just have to wonder about it. Makes it more interesting..lol
